About CoCreative OT

CoCreative Occupational Therapy is a private practice based in the inner west of Melbourne. We support children & their families with their occupational therapy needs.

CoCreative OT is founded on the principle that each child has unique strengths and characteristics, which should be celebrated, nurtured and advocated for.

We are listening to the voices of neurodivergent individuals who have shared their stories of their own therapeutic journeys.  Here, we strive to align therapy with the neuro-affirming approach and create a space where you can be your true stimming, sensory, and playful self.

Family involvement and participation is a key factor within this practice so ideas are transferrable across environments, and we are ultimately co-creating as a whole.

What We Offer

IMG_1889.JPG
In-Clinic Therapy Sessions

We currently offer in-clinic therapy sessions for individuals that are generally on a fortnightly basis, however, alternative arrangements can be made dependant on the child’s needs.

Therapy goals are set by collaborating with the child, family and wider network of supports.

Reports & Letters

Letters and reports are a useful tool for collaborating with other healthcare professionals and your child's wider network of supports.

Written reports are available on request to support funding applications.

Assessments

Standardised assessments can often be a requirement to support funding applications under the NDIS. CoCreative can complete occupational therapy assessments upon request, and if necessary for your child’s individual needs.

We would like to note that many standardised assessments findings are based on neurotypical norms, and want to acknowledge that these findings are often not representative of your child’s unique strengths.

A Note From Our Founder

I completed my Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree at Australian Catholic University Melbourne and have been supporting children and their families in private practice settings since completion. My therapeutic approach also draws from my experiences in the UK, when I was a 1:1 support worker for neurodiverse children in school settings. Here, I learnt how important it is to involve peoples interests within each learning activity, and I continue to work on children's therapy goals through play.

I have a special interest in supporting children to become aware of their individual sensory preferences, which includes the eighth sense, interoception. I value the impact of sensory awareness as it can assist individuals with developing their emotional regulation skills, fine, and gross motor skills, helps to understand co-regulation needs, and overall assisting individuals to thrive in many areas of their life.

I am continually learning from children and their families, along with other health-professionals, and neurodiverse advocates to ensure best-practice in a strength-based and family-centred manner.

I am a member of Occupational Therapy Australia, and a certified practicing Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA.
